Vanakkam Devotees,
In preparation for our 2021 Thai Poosam Kavady Prayers, we recommend the devotees who wish to observe the prayer from their homes to begin their fast on the 19th of January.
Devotees can make an appointment with Guru from the 19th to 26th of January in order to collect a Kavady, yellow string/Kanganam to observe the prayer from their homes.
On the Thai Poosam day (28th January), devotees can perform an abishegam for their Kavady/Paal Kudam, decorate, offer fruit, milk & coconut and show “Deeparadanai.”
When you collect the Kavady we will share the list of prayer goods to bring to the temple. Donations will be appreciated.
No gatherings or prayers will take place at the temple as per Government regulations.

Vanakkam Devotees 🙏🏼
Thai Poosam is the biggest festival at our temple and a renowned festival globally. Devotees take a vow, fast for 10
days with sincerity and true devotion. On Thai poosam day they go to the temple and fulfil their vows by carrying Kavady
and Paal Kudam.
2020 was a challenging year due to the Pandemic. In order to bring this under control in 2021, we would have to restrict
gathering including places of worship. Flag hoisting for 2021 is starting on the 19th of January and due to the current
situation we will not be able to gather at the temple. Nevertheless, let’s observe the fast and perform the prayers from
our homes. Further details will follow closer to the day of flag hoisting. Please contact Guru on 082 490 4091 for any
other questions regarding fulfilling your vows.
May Lord Muruga bless us all.
